Arai’s new 3D logo duct is designed for maximum airflow while staying as slim as possible—just 3.5mm deep. Thanks to the strength of the PB-cLc2 shell, this duct feeds two 10mm intake ports, significantly improving ventilation even at lower speeds. At 50 km/h, it increases airflow by 40%, and at 120 km/h, by 7%. It’s easy to operate with gloves, thanks to a short-stroke lever on top—if the Arai logo is visible in its normal position, the duct is open. For added safety, the duct is designed to break away in case of impact.
Aerodynamic Rear Spoiler with Integrated Exhaust
Inspired by the DF-X2 system from the Corsair-X, the Contour-X features a one-piece rear spoiler that also functions as an exhaust vent. It’s positioned slightly forward for improved touring performance and tested at speeds up to 300 km/h at Suzuka. This system efficiently channels air through three shell ports, reducing turbulence and buffeting—especially when overtaking—while enhancing overall stability to minimize rider fatigue. Designed to be as lightweight as possible, the spoiler will crush or break away on impact to ensure safety.
Air-Scoop Chin Vent
A newly designed, three-position sliding chin vent (open, midway, closed) provides increased airflow with a built-in replaceable filter. The thicker actuator is glove-friendly for easy operation on the go.
Intercom Compatibility
The Contour-X is designed to seamlessly accommodate a communication system, allowing installation on the shell exterior without compromising the integrity of the EPS liner.
Advanced Shell Construction: PB-cLc2
The helmet’s sleek, organic design is built using Arai’s PB-cLc2 shell construction for lightweight durability. A new reinforcement material replaces the previous AR-mat, reducing weight while maintaining strength. An extra layer of Super Fiber belting enhances rigidity where it matters most, while the flat sides provide an easy fit for intercom systems.
Variable Axis System (VAS)
The visor mounting position has been lowered, providing an additional 24mm of smooth shell surface around the temples. This design helps improve the helmet’s ability to glance off impacts, contributing to overall safety and meeting Snell standards.
5mm Wider Opening
Arai has widened the shell opening by 5mm for easier on and off, especially for those new to Arai’s signature snug fit.
Neck Roll Wire Pocket
A small stitched opening inside the neck roll allows for neatly tucking away excess wiring when installing an intercom system, keeping everything clean and organized.
